Presidential Reactions Emerge After Constitutional Ruling
The President of the National Assembly, Ousmane Sonko, has responded to a constitutional ruling declaring unconstitutional a law aimed at reforming the country’s constitution.
Sonko stated that despite differing opinions over the motivations behind the decision, he believes it is imperative for everyone involved to accept the ruling ‘don’t act!’

In a statement, Sonko emphasized that this development serves as a reminder of the importance of parliamentary institutions exercising their roles effectively.
The President also reaffirmed his commitment to upholding the parliament’s mission. ‘The National Assembly will continue to fulfill its duties diligently, and laws will be passed or rejected in accordance with our commitments to this great people,’ Sonko assured.
