Second wave of dismissals under president Bassirou Diomaye Faye

President Bassirou Diomaye Faye has carried out a second wave of dismissals, this time targeting top officials aligned with Ousmane Sonko. The reshuffle, announced on Wednesday, marks a decisive shift in leadership across key institutions.

High-profile dismissals send strong signals

The most notable change involves Waly Diouf Bodiang, long-serving Director General of the Port autonome de Dakar. A prominent figure within Pastef, he has been replaced by Doune Pathé Mbengue, a former activist from the Apr.

Babo Amadou Ba, National Coordinator of Pastef’s cadres and Director General of the Fonds de financement de la formation professionnelle et technique (3FPT), was also relieved of his duties. Soulèye Kane steps in to take his place.

In Touba, Lamine Barra Lô, who served as Pastef’s local leader and Director General of the Office national de la formation professionnelle (ONFP), has been replaced by Mame Awa Ndoye.

New appointments reinforce strategic priorities

Among the new appointees is Karamba Diallo, who now heads SEN-Pharmacie nationale d’approvisionnement. His predecessor, Seydou Diallo—a Sonko ally and Pastef leader in Keur Massar—has been removed from the position.
