The political party PASTEF-Les Patriotes recently concluded an extensive 48-hour political tour across Senegal’s Jolof region. Delegations, personally led by party leader Ousmane Sonko and Minister of State Habib Sy, along with numerous national executives and coalition allies, traversed all 19 communes within the Linguère department, reaching communities from Dahra to Barkédji, including Sagatta and Yang-Yang.

This comprehensive immersion into the heart of Jolof showcased a clear demonstration of the party’s strength and deep local roots. The itinerary included respectful courtesy visits and productive discussions with the region’s esteemed religious and customary authorities. These engagements were complemented by strategic working sessions held with the party’s essential grassroots structures, encompassing youth, women, and executive members.

Territorial networking and the opening of the departmental headquarters

Following this significant mobilization, the local party bodies officially presented their strategic roadmap for the upcoming period. A pivotal moment of this extensive journey was the inauguration of PASTEF’s departmental headquarters, which also signaled the official commencement of the member card placement campaign. The stated objective is to enhance territorial outreach through intensive, localized engagement within the department’s numerous villages and neighborhoods.

A call for unity

In the wake of this internal restructuring, local political leaders extended a solemn invitation for unity. This call for broader assembly is directed not only at long-standing militants and sympathizers but also extends to political figures from other parties who wish to align themselves with the territorial development project championed by PASTEF.
