Morocco joins Gaza stabilization force with humanitarian and security commitment

The Kingdom of Morocco has formally endorsed an agreement to join the International Stabilization Force (ISF) in Gaza, marking a significant step in its commitment to regional peace and international solidarity. The signing ceremony took place in Rabat under the direct supervision of high-ranking officials, following the strategic directives of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, Supreme Commander of the Royal Armed Forces (FAR) and President of the Al Qods Committee.

The agreement was signed during a high-level meeting chaired by Foreign Minister Nasser Bourita and Delegated Minister for National Defense Administration Abdeltif Loudyi. The gathering brought together Morocco’s top military leadership alongside a delegation led by Nickolay Mladenov, Senior Representative of the Gaza Peace Council, emphasizing the country’s proactive role in international crisis resolution.

Humanitarian and security contributions to Gaza

According to a statement from the National Defense Administration, this participation solidifies Morocco’s status as a founding member of the Gaza Peace Council—a commitment first announced during the council’s inaugural meeting in Washington. The Moroccan authorities highlighted the Kingdom’s unwavering dedication to peace, cooperation, and global solidarity, while underscoring the FAR’s extensive experience in United Nations peacekeeping operations and Morocco’s long-standing efforts to promote regional stability.

The Gaza Peace Council officials praised Morocco’s engagement, which includes:

  • Deploying senior FAR officers to the ISF joint command;
  • Involving officers from the Royal Gendarmerie and the General Directorate for National Security (DGSN);
  • Establishing a mobile military field hospital.

The signed agreement establishes the legal framework governing the technical and operational aspects of Morocco’s involvement. It reflects a shared determination to restore peace and security in Gaza through coordinated humanitarian and security actions.
