Gabon: activists demand immediate release of detained opposition leader
The Movement for the Grandeur of Gabon (MGG), led by its president Christian Mermance N’nang Nsome, has publicly urged authorities to release Alain-Claude Bilie-By-Nzé, former Prime Minister and current Chairman of the Ensemble Pour le Gabon (EPG) opposition coalition. Bilie-By-Nzé has been held at the Libreville Central Prison since April 2026 on charges of alleged fraud involving five million CFA francs.
