Bénin extends registration deadline for civil engineers
Civil engineers in Bénin now have an additional 30 days to register with the Ordre national des ingénieurs civils du Bénin, following an announcement by the Ministry of Housing and Transport. The decision aims to accommodate professionals who need more time to complete the online registration process.
Who qualifies for registration?
The extended deadline applies to all Bénin-based and diaspora civil engineers holding recognized qualifications, including:
- State-recognized engineering degrees
- CAMES-accredited professional master’s degrees
- Equivalent diplomas in relevant fields
The registration process covers multiple specializations, such as:
- Building and public works
- Geotechnical engineering
- Transport infrastructure
- Hydraulics and energy infrastructure
- Environmental and sanitation engineering
- Electronics, IT, and telecommunications
Why the extension?
Minister Georges Alé emphasized the importance of this measure in ensuring a smooth transition toward establishing the first official roll of the Ordre national des ingénieurs civils du Bénin. The ministry urges all eligible professionals to complete their registrations promptly to support the initiative.
Registrations must be finalized on the official portal onic.bj within the 30-day window. The ministry stresses that compliance with this requirement is essential for the effective implementation of the national civil engineering order.
