World Vision Tchad has unveiled its groundbreaking national strategy for 2026-2030, setting ambitious targets to uplift 3.29 million children across the country. The comprehensive roadmap integrates humanitarian aid, sustainable development, and peacebuilding initiatives to create lasting change.

During a high-level press conference held in N’Djamena, World Vision Tchad officially presented its transformative vision for the coming years. The initiative targets 3.29 million children, including 3.09 million from the most vulnerable groups, by leveraging multi-sector interventions in health, nutrition, education, child protection, and climate resilience.

Carla Dominique Denizard, World Vision’s Regional Director for West Africa, emphasized the strategy’s innovative approach. “This is more than just a plan—it’s a commitment to ensuring every child in Chad thrives,” she stated. The framework is built on the “Humanitarian-Development-Peace Nexus,” seamlessly blending emergency relief with long-term development and peacebuilding efforts. She highlighted the importance of community engagement and cultural integration in achieving sustainable progress.

Denizard underscored that West and Central Africa’s children deserve more than survival—they deserve the chance to flourish. However, the region faces formidable challenges: insecurity, deep-rooted poverty, climate-induced crises, and mass displacement. World Vision’s strategy directly addresses these issues through an integrated model that combines immediate humanitarian assistance with sustainable development and peace initiatives.

The 2026-2030 strategy is meticulously aligned with Chad’s Vision 2030 and the African Union’s Agenda 2063, as well as the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 13, and 16). Key priorities include enhancing human capital, strengthening social protection systems, and adapting to climate change. The strategy also prioritizes early childhood literacy through the Unlock Literacy program and safeguarding children from all forms of violence.

Édouard Ngoy Wangoy, National Director of World Vision Tchad, described the launch as a “historic milestone.” “This strategy represents a 20% increase in our ambitions compared to previous plans,” he noted. “Our goal is clear: to ensure every child in Chad not only survives but thrives. We are committed to building a nation where children are protected, nourished, educated, and empowered to reach their full potential.”

Wangoy also highlighted Chad’s persistent struggles with poverty, malnutrition, and recurring humanitarian crises—nearly 42% of the population lives below the poverty line. “The data speaks for itself,” he said. “We must intensify our efforts to support the most vulnerable communities.”
