In Nairobi, President Bassirou Diomaye Faye engaged in discussions with Rodolphe Saadé, the Chief Executive Officer of CMA CGM, regarding Senegal’s ambitious logistics goals, particularly focusing on the Ndayane Port development. This pivotal initiative is poised to establish the nation as a premier logistics gateway along Africa’s Atlantic coastline.

During the “Africa Forward” Forum held in Nairobi, President Bassirou Diomaye Faye convened with Rodolphe Saadé, CEO of the CMA CGM Group, a global leader in shipping and logistics. Their meeting underscored the critical importance of enhancing regional and national transport capabilities.
The discussions primarily revolved around the future prospects for port sector expansion within Senegal and the broader sub-region. A significant focus was placed on the impending operational launch of the Ndayane Port and the establishment of its associated special economic zone.
These advanced facilities are anticipated to be instrumental in Senegal’s strategy to solidify its position as a preeminent logistics hub on the African Atlantic seaboard. Furthermore, this initiative is projected to stimulate the creation of sustainable employment opportunities, invigorate commercial trade, and bolster the country’s economic revenues.
CMA CGM, a conglomerate operating in over 170 nations with a fleet exceeding 700 container vessels, reiterated its strong commitment during this event to support Senegal’s evolving trajectory in economic and logistical advancement.
