Ousmane Sonko urges Pastef cadres to prioritize unity over internal divisions

During the unveiling of Pastef’s new headquarters in Mbacké, party leader Ousmane Sonko delivered a stern warning to his political cadres, emphasizing that internal rivalries posed the greatest threat to the movement’s future. Leveraging his strong grassroots support, he asserted that Pastef’s strength—rooted in the backing of at least 70% of the population—rendered it nearly impervious to external pressures. Instead, he framed internal discord as the sole credible risk to the party’s momentum, calling on leaders to shoulder both personal and shared accountability.
