The Chadian government is accelerating its campaign against human trafficking, with a sharp focus on protecting women and children. A recent circular issued to security and judicial leaders underscores the urgency of these measures and outlines mandatory enforcement protocols.

Human trafficking remains a severe violation of human rights, often involving sexual exploitation and forced labor. Chad, a signatory to the United Nations Convention against Transnational Organized Crime since 2009, has strengthened its legal framework with key legislation, including Ordinance Nº006/PR/2018 and Law Nº12/PR/2018.

Under the new directives, authorities are required to conduct swift investigations, file detailed reports, and transfer all cases to relevant courts without delay. Each case must also be reported to the General Secretariat of the Ministry of Justice and the National Anti-Trafficking Commission for rigorous follow-up.

Provincial delegates have been tasked with ensuring strict compliance across the country. This coordinated effort aims to establish a comprehensive national database, paving the way for a more robust and effective anti-trafficking strategy in Chad.
