Aldiouma Sow: Ousmane Sonko ‘hid his true face’ and betrayed us

Aldiouma Sow, a prominent Minister-Advisor to the President of the Republic and the coordinator for the political, civil society, and trade union sphere within the Presidential Cabinet, did not mince words when discussing Ousmane Sonko during his recent appearance on TFM’s program, Infos Matin.

Addressing a journalist’s inquiry regarding the persistent criticisms leveled against the Prime Minister, Sow stated, “In the history of Pastef, we must differentiate between two distinct phases. Previously, the reproaches directed at Ousmane Sonko originated from the opposition. At that time, we believed these were merely tactics in their political struggle against him. However, upon assuming power, we came to realize that those criticisms were, in fact, well-founded. Ousmane Sonko betrayed us. He had concealed his true character from us.”

When questioned about the dismissal of Fifi Diakhaté from MONCAP, Aldiouma Sow asserted that such individuals have consistently demonstrated throughout their political careers a disregard for established norms and structures. He further elaborated, “Currently, the party’s leadership is held captive by a messianic faction comprising just two or three individuals, who operate the party in ways that undermine its fundamental interests.”
