The newly established political party, « Kiiraay », officially unveiled this Saturday afternoon, July 25, has declared its core mission: to safeguard the Republic of Sénégal, its foundational institutions, and the cherished ancestral values intended for future generations. This significant initiative aims to reignite hope across all segments of the nation. President Bassirou Diomaye Faye emphasized the critical importance of prioritizing the homeland above any political divisions or personal ambitions, asserting that “we may be adversaries one day, but we remain brothers every day.”

Amidst enthusiastic ovations from a vast assembly of supporters and activists, Bassirou Diomaye Faye took on the role of a prominent political leader for the afternoon. The sheer number of attendees overwhelmed the main hall of the King Fahd Palace, with many compelled to follow the address by the head of the former « Diomaye Président » coalition from a large marquee erected on the hotel’s forecourt.

During his address, the President also seized the opportunity to subtly critique political adversaries, without explicitly naming them. He declared that “from now on, no warmonger will be able to disturb the peace of the Senegalese people or their commitment to serving the Republic.” Many activists present interpreted these remarks as being directed towards Ousmane Sonko, his former political ally and the current President of the National Assembly.
