Mali’s army and partners achieve significant success against armed groups in the north

The Malian Armed Forces (FAMA), working in close coordination with their partners, announced a substantial operational success this Thursday. Military actions conducted in the northern regions of Anfif and Tabrachat resulted in the neutralization of approximately one hundred armed combatants.

In an official statement, the army detailed that these strategic operations specifically targeted militants associated with the Al-Nusra for Islam and Muslims group (JNIM) and the Azawad Liberation Front (FLA). The comprehensive campaign featured 13 decisive airstrikes, which also led to the destruction of six combat vehicles and a pickup truck.

These impactful operations were executed on Tuesday, and the Malian military reaffirmed its unwavering commitment to persist with its campaign against armed factions across various parts of the nation. FAMA emphasized its forces’ dedication to carrying out these missions with utmost discipline and resolve, in continued collaboration with its allies.

Separately, the Russian Africa Corps, in a communication shared on “X,” confirmed its participation, noting that the joint endeavors had successfully destroyed and incinerated numerous militant vehicles. The Corps further stated that one of its drones had precisely targeted another vehicle laden with ammunition and essential military supplies.

The Russian Africa Corps characterized these actions as “successful joint operations” undertaken alongside the Malian Armed Forces against armed groups operating within the region. They reiterated their pledge to maintain relentless pressure on militant positions and logistical assets, bolstering security in the Sahel.
