Mali army claims victory over armed groups in northern operations

The Malian Armed Forces (FAMA) reported on Thursday that coordinated military operations in the northern regions of Anfif and Tabrachat resulted in the elimination of nearly a hundred armed combatants linked to militant groups.

According to an official statement, the targeted factions included the Group for the Support of Islam and Muslims (JNIM) and the Azavad Liberation Front (FLA). The operations involved 13 airstrikes, which also led to the destruction of six armored vehicles and one pickup truck.

The military emphasized that these actions were part of an ongoing nationwide campaign against armed groups, reaffirming its commitment to pursue operations “with discipline and resolve.” Coordination with international partners played a key role in the mission’s execution.

In a separate statement on the platform X, the Africa Corps disclosed that a significant number of militant vehicles were either destroyed or set ablaze during the raids. A drone operated by the Corps reportedly struck another vehicle transporting ammunition and military supplies, further crippling the enemy’s logistical capabilities.

The Africa Corps described the joint efforts with the Malian army as “highly effective,” vowing to persist in targeting militant positions and equipment to weaken their operational capacity in the region.
