Lomé organizes special blood drive ahead of world blood donor day
Mark your calendars for Friday, June 12, 2026, when the National Blood Transfusion Centre (CNTS) of Lomé will host a special blood collection event ahead of the 22nd World Blood Donor Day, celebrated globally on June 14.
This year’s campaign carries the powerful theme « One drop of humanity. Give blood. Save lives », emphasizing how a single donation can make a lifesaving difference for patients in need.
Where to donate in Lomé
Donors are invited to visit one of two convenient locations in the capital:
- The CNTS headquarters in Tokoin Doumasséssé, directly across from EPP Doumasséssé 1;
- The Tokoin Collection and Distribution Post (PCD), located at the Sylvanus Olympio University Hospital (CHU), behind the hemodialysis department.
Why your donation matters
The CNTS is appealing to the public to come forward and contribute to this vital initiative. With just one donation, you can help replenish the blood supply and meet the urgent needs of hospitals and clinics across the region. Every pint collected strengthens the healthcare system and gives hope to those in critical need of transfusions.
« Together, we can turn generosity into lifelines », stated officials from the National Blood Transfusion Centre, urging citizens to participate in this collective act of solidarity.
The CNTS extends its deepest gratitude to all volunteers who step forward to support this cause, recognizing that their contributions directly save lives and improve health outcomes for patients requiring blood transfusions.
