The Chadian government is doubling down on its campaign against human trafficking, with a sharp focus on protecting women and children. A recent circular has been dispatched to security and justice officials, emphasizing the urgency of this battle and outlining the necessary measures to be taken.

Human trafficking remains a severe violation of human rights, often involving sexual exploitation and forced labor. Chad, a signatory to the United Nations Convention against Transnational Organized Crime since 2009, has reinforced its legal framework with key legislation such as Ordinance No.006/PR/2018 and Law No.12/PR/2018.

Authorities are now required to conduct swift investigations, prepare detailed reports, and systematically forward cases to the appropriate courts. Each case must also be reported to the General Secretariat of the Ministry of Justice and the National Commission for the Fight against Trafficking in Persons for rigorous monitoring.

Provincial delegates have been tasked with ensuring strict compliance with these directives. This coordinated effort aims to establish a national database to develop an effective anti-trafficking strategy in Chad.
