According to league officials, the fixture’s exact date will be confirmed on Wednesday, August 12, following the conclusion of Olympique Lyonnais’ third qualifying round match in the UEFA Champions League.

If the team secures a place in the Champions League playoffs, the showdown with Auxerre will take place on Friday, September 4, at 7:00 PM. However, should they face elimination in the third qualifying round, the match will be rescheduled to Saturday, September 5, at 8:45 PM.

Regardless of the outcome, fans can catch the game live on Ligue 1+.

It’s worth noting that Olympique Lyonnais had initially sought to postpone their opening Ligue 1 fixture to better prepare for potential Champions League playoffs later in August. The request, however, was denied by the French Football League (LFP).
