Lions club international governor begins regional tour in Côte d’Ivoire, aligns with PND 2026-2030

Jean Pierre HILLAH, the newly appointed Governor for District 403-A2 of the Lions Club International, has officially commenced his regional tour across the district’s four member states. His inaugural stop was in Côte d’Ivoire, where he was received by Dr. Souleymane DIARRASSOUBA, the Minister of Planning and Development, at his office on Monday, August 31, 2026.

District 403-A2 encompasses Côte d’Ivoire, Togo, Liberia, and Sierra Leone, with five distinct regions situated within Ivorian territory. The Lions Club International primarily focuses its efforts on bolstering youth capacities and promoting environmental protection initiatives.

The esteemed organization explicitly declared its commitment to actively support the implementation of Côte d’Ivoire’s National Development Plan (PND) for the period 2026-2030.

Minister DIARRASSOUBA emphasized the opportune timing of this significant visit, noting that Côte d’Ivoire had recently embarked on a fresh cycle of its comprehensive National Development Plan.

The PND 2026-2030 encapsulates President Alassane Ouattara’s strategic vision to elevate Côte d’Ivoire to the status of an upper-middle-income country by the year 2030.

The Minister further highlighted the robust engagement of various partners rallying behind the PND 2026-2030. He reiterated that the government’s actions are meticulously aligned with the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the African Union’s Agenda 2063.

These productive discussions lay the groundwork for enhanced cooperation, particularly in critical areas such as youth empowerment, healthcare, education, and environmental stewardship.
