Côte d’Ivoire : Alassane Ouattara Announces Record $47 Billion Investment Deal
President Alassane Ouattara expressed his satisfaction with the historic deal, which demonstrates international confidence in Côte d'Ivoire’s solid foundation and promising development strategy.
The agreement was reached during a two-day consultation meeting in Abidjan, attended by over 2,000 investors from 49 countries. The attendees included representatives from financial institutions, investment funds, banks, trade unions, state-owned enterprises, and private companies.
According to the president, the pledged investments amount to $80 billion, or approximately 47.82 trillion CFA francs – nearly four times the initial target of 11.14 trillion CFA francs.
The National Development Plan (PND) 2026-2030 sets ambitious targets, including transforming Côte d'Ivoire into a stable, ambitious, and socially responsible nation within five years. The plan aims to boost economic growth by achieving an intermediate-income economy status by 2030.
The sector private sector is expected to drive this transformation with a global investment volume of $209 billion over the next five years – accounting for 70.2% of the total target. Six key priorities are outlined in the PND, focusing on peace, security and stability; agriculture and agro-industry; industrialization; human capital development; infrastructure development; good governance, and modernizing the state.
President Ouattara emphasized his commitment to leveraging this new investment momentum to deliver tangible outcomes for every Ivoirian citizen. He called upon the nation to come together, with confidence, determination, and unity, to build a Côte d'Ivoire that is more prosperous and solidarized.
