Tchad opposition warns of political repression and rising tensions

In a press briefing held this Wednesday in N’Djamena, the opposition party Les Patriotes, a member of the former Groupe de Concertation des Acteurs Politiques (GCAP), raised urgent concerns about the deteriorating political climate in Chad. The party condemned what it described as intensified repression by authorities, pointing to a series of judicial proceedings targeting key political figures.

The Les Patriotes movement also highlighted a concerning rise in intercommunal tensions and a worsening security situation across the country. Their statements underscore growing apprehension among political actors over the country’s stability and democratic trajectory.
