Morocco shares anti-corruption expertise with Chad in Rabat talks

The Moroccan Attorney General at the Court of Cassation and head of the Public Prosecution, Hicham Balaoui, engaged in a working session on Thursday, July 9, in Rabat with Ousmane Abderamane Djougourou, the Inspector General of Chad’s Independent Anti-Corruption Authority. This meeting was part of an official visit aimed at learning from Morocco’s proven strategies in preventing and combating corruption.

During the discussions, Hicham Balaoui outlined Morocco’s robust anti-corruption framework, highlighting the legal and institutional mechanisms established, as well as the penal policies enforced by the Public Prosecution. The talks also included a comparative analysis of best practices in corruption control, according to an official statement.

Representatives from Chad’s delegation gained insights into key initiatives spearheaded by the Public Prosecution, including a direct hotline for reporting corruption and embezzlement, as well as the digital platform e-TABLIGH. This system empowers citizens to report suspected corruption acts while ensuring secure and confidential handling of complaints through advanced digital safeguards.
