Ligue 1 sanctions confirmed for ogc nice as nice faces saint-etienne playoff behind closed doors

The disciplinary commission of the French Football League (LFP) has finalized sanctions against OGC Nice following the incidents during the recent Ligue 1 match against FC Metz (0-0). The decision means Nice will play the Ligue 1 play-off return leg against AS Saint-Étienne behind closed doors on May 29 at 20:45.

As part of the ruling, Nice will also face a total stadium closure for two Ligue 1 matches at the Allianz Riviera, in addition to a suspended match. The play-off first leg will take place at Geoffroy-Guichard on May 26. The club’s players and staff will have to navigate this decisive period without the vocal support of their fans, a challenge compounded by a season marked by turmoil.
