Ivorian prime minister rallies investors for 2026-2030 national development plan

Abidjan, 9 July 2026 – The second day of the Consultative Group for the National Development Plan (PND) 2026-2030, dedicated to investors, was officially launched on Thursday at the Sofitel Hôtel Ivoire in Abidjan. Prime Minister Robert Beugré Mambé presided over the opening session, underlining the critical role of private capital in driving Côte d’Ivoire’s economic ambitions forward.

The event brought together over 700 investors from partner countries, alongside business leaders and private sector representatives who traveled to Abidjan to engage in high-level discussions. In his address, the Prime Minister framed the gathering as a pivotal platform for aligning public policy with private sector action, fostering a shared vision for sustainable growth.

Robert Beugré Mambé emphasized the government’s commitment to positioning the private sector as the engine of Côte d’Ivoire’s economic transformation. He highlighted the nation’s proven resilience, citing its robust average growth rate of 6.5% over recent years despite global uncertainties. « Côte d’Ivoire stands among Africa’s most dynamic economies, » he noted, « and today presents a rapidly expanding market brimming with opportunities for value-driven investment. »

The Prime Minister outlined key priority sectors under the PND 2026-2030, stressing that investments in industrialization, local value addition, infrastructure development—particularly in transport, digital technology, and logistics—and human capital enhancement would be central to unlocking the country’s full potential. « These investments will not only strengthen competitiveness but also make our economy more inclusive and innovative, » he stated.

He also pointed to the success of the first day of the Consultative Group, which focused on institutional partners and development strategy, drawing over 3,000 participants from 49 countries, including Côte d’Ivoire.

In response, leading figures from the private sector reaffirmed their commitment to Côte d’Ivoire’s growth agenda. Ahmed Cissé, President of the Confédération générale des Entreprises de Côte d’Ivoire (CGECI), alongside Mehdi Tazi, President of Confédération générale des Entreprises du Maroc (CGEM), and Mohamed Gouled, Vice President of the International Finance Corporation (IFC), pledged substantial financial commitments to support the implementation of the PND 2026-2030.
