Bénin’s elite security training program commences in Porto-Novo
The National Superior Police School in Porto-Novo recently inaugurated its advanced preparatory training courses on Wednesday, May 14, 2026. This significant event marked the official commencement of programs leading to the Brevet d’Études Supérieures de Sécurité (Bess), the Diplôme d’État-Major des Forces de Sécurité (Demes), and the Diplôme Spécial d’État-Major des Forces de Sécurité, crucial for enhancing Bénin security leadership.
This formal launch represents a pivotal moment in bolstering the capabilities of Bénin’s internal security forces. Presiding over the ceremony was Inspector General of Police 2nd class Kokou Brice Allowanou, the Director General of the Republican Police, whose patronage underscored the event’s importance. Divisional Police Commissioner Gilles Yekpe, who directs the National Superior Police School, outlined the ambitious objectives of these programs.
