Waly Diouf Bodian responds to Mary Teuw Niang: “Those who disrespect Ousmane Sonko won’t be respected”

Waly Diouf Bodian, a political leader of Pastef, has strongly reacted to recent comments by Professor Mary Teuw Niang about verbal violence and respect in public debate. The politician accuses the former Minister of Higher Education of inconsistency after his attacks on Pastef leader Ousmane Sonko.

Bodian outright rejects the academic’s calls for calm and criticizes his institutional stance. “After calling President Ousmane Sonko an impostor, Mary Teuw Niang comes back to lecture us on verbal violence and respect for others. It’s too late, Professor,” Bodian declared. Continuing his criticism, he added: “Your literary nonsense on Sundays no longer works with us patriots. We don’t respect those who don’t respect Ousmane Sonko.” He concluded by accusing Mary Teuw Niang of straying from the nation’s values to side with the establishment.
