Togo energy sector faces leadership change at ceet

The leadership of the Togo Electric Power Company (CEET) has undergone a significant shift. Débo-K’mba Barandao, the former director-general, has been relieved of his duties following multiple reports.

The reasons behind this decision remain undisclosed by official channels. However, the move comes at a time when CEET continues to grapple with persistent challenges in electricity distribution and service quality across the country.

Appointed in March 2022, Débo-K’mba Barandao was tasked with spearheading critical reforms within the state-owned utility. His tenure was characterized by efforts to restructure the organisation and enhance operational efficiency.

Togo energy leadership change

As a cornerstone of Togo’s energy sector, CEET has long struggled with recurring issues, including frequent power outages and the urgent need to modernise its infrastructure.

No successor has been announced yet. Authorities are expected to finalise a new appointment in the coming days to ensure uninterrupted service delivery.
