Chad: father demands action after son’s assault near military camp in n’djaména
Tchad : agression près du camp 27, un père interpelle les autorités
Un jeune homme a été agressé près du camp 27 à N’Djaména. Son père dénonce un échec sécuritaire et appelle à renforcer la protection des citoyens.
Mahamat Adam, a concerned father, has urgently called upon Chadian authorities to address the serious assault his son endured. His son, a young man in his twenties, was attacked on Tuesday, July 15, 2026, around 10 PM, in close proximity to Camp 27 in N’Djaména. This incident has ignited debate over public safety and Chad security measures.
According to the father’s account, the incident unfolded as his son, Adam Mahamat Adam, was traveling from the Farcha district towards Amriguebé. While nearing Camp 27, he was targeted by assailants, leading to an accident. Despite the shock, the young man remained conscious and received immediate assistance from sentinels stationed at Camp 27. A police patrol swiftly transported him to the Central Hospital for urgent medical care.
Law enforcement officers secured the victim’s motorcycle at the scene, which the attackers were unable to steal. However, the perpetrators managed to escape, evading capture, raising questions about security Sahel effectiveness in urban areas.
Mahamat Adam acknowledges the sequence of events but strongly disputes the official interpretation. He expressed profound dissatisfaction with the sentinels’ explanation, which simply stated that the suspects fled. For him, this narrative fails to convey the gravity of the situation and, more critically, overlooks what he perceives as a significant security lapse in N’Djaména.
“The aggression occurred merely meters from Camp 27,” he lamented. “This clearly demonstrates that Chadian citizens are not safe, even in areas presumed to be protected.”
The victim’s father is now appealing directly to the Ministry of Public Security, urging them to fully embrace their responsibilities and enhance the protection of citizens. He firmly believes that no district should be without a visible and deterrent presence of law enforcement. The proximity of this violent act to a military installation, he argues, makes the incident even more alarming for the local population, underscoring the broader challenges facing Chad security.
As the investigation continues, the victim’s family awaits concrete actions and tangible improvements in public safety, beyond mere assurances.
