Pastef’s Amadou Ba sheds light on Ousmane Sonko and Aminata Touré’s phone calls

Amadou Ba de Pastef : « La vérité sur les appels téléphoniques entre Ousmane Sonko et Aminata Touré »

During the alleged conversation, the former Prime Minister reportedly voiced strong criticisms regarding Bassirou Diomaye Faye, according to the deputy.

At a recent press briefing hosted by Pastef-Les Patriotes, Deputy Amadou Ba disclosed what he termed the “unvarnished truth” regarding purported telephone conversations between Ousmane Sonko and Aminata Touré. These exchanges allegedly occurred while the current Prime Minister, Ousmane Sonko, was in detention. This disclosure further reinforces Ba’s stance in defending the head of government amidst ongoing controversies surrounding public fund management.

The deputy asserted that during this specific call, the former Prime Minister expressed highly critical opinions concerning Bassirou Diomaye Faye. Amadou Ba quoted her as saying to Ousmane Sonko, « Diomaye is incapable of leading this country. If you leave him here, he won’t last two years. »

The parliamentarian now views this alleged statement as inconsistent with Aminata Touré’s current political stance. He explicitly accuses her of attempting to “alter history” and reinterpret past events to suit the shifting political landscape.

Despite the intensifying verbal clashes between the two factions, Amadou Ba nevertheless sought to de-escalate tensions. He urged for restraint over confrontation, stating, « He is pushing us towards violence, and we will not engage in it. » This statement underscores Pastef’s commitment to prioritizing political discourse and debate over direct conflict.
