The High Authority for Party Regulation (HARP) of Pastef-Les Patriotes has released the provisional list of candidates for the upcoming party leadership election ahead of the 2026 congress. In its official decision, the body responsible for overseeing internal elections confirmed that Ousmane Sonko is the only candidate whose bid has been deemed valid at this stage.

No additional nominations have been approved in the published document. The upcoming Pastef-Les Patriotes congress, scheduled for the coming weeks, will play a pivotal role in selecting the party’s next leader.
