Côte d’Ivoire shares vision for african development in a world of recomposition
The great orientations of African development are being constructed in forums where public decision-makers, international financial institutions, and economists come together.
Dr. Souleymane Diarrassouba, Minister of Planning and Development, spoke on Saturday, July 11, 2026, during the opening declarations of the African Economic Conference 2026, alongside Dr. Sidi Ould Tah, President of the African Development Bank Group, and representatives from the United Nations and the UN Development Programme, as well as the OECD, co-organizers of this conference with the Commission for Economic Cooperation of the United Nations for Africa.
This annual meeting brings together every year at the BAD headquarters in Abidjan, the main development institution decision-makers, leading economists from multilateral banks, central banks, research centers, and public officials around the major economic transformations that will shape the continent’s future.
In a context marked by geopolitical recompositions and new financing challenges for development, Côte d’Ivoire shared its experience in strategic planning, investment mobilization, and economic transformation through the 2026-2030 National Development Plan.
As Governor of the African Development Bank for Côte d’Ivoire, the Minister presented the Government’s vision in favor of anticipatory public policies, durable reforms, and an investment-friendly framework.
Through this participation, Côte d’Ivoire reaffirmed its desire to actively contribute to shaping development policy debates in Africa and share a recognized experience in planning, coordinating public policies, and mobilizing partners.
