World vision Tchad’s bold 2030 roadmap aims to transform lives of 3.3m children

N’Djamena – World Vision Tchad has unveiled its ambitious five-year strategic plan (2026-2030) designed to uplift the lives of 3.29 million children across the country. The comprehensive blueprint, unveiled during a high-profile press conference on July 9, 2026, brings together national leaders, technical partners, and humanitarian stakeholders in a unified vision for child welfare.

An integrated lifeline for vulnerable children

This groundbreaking initiative targets 3.09 million of Tchad’s most at-risk children, focusing on five critical pillars: health, nutrition, education, child protection, and climate resilience. The strategy is built on the Humanitarian-Development-Peace Nexus, a forward-thinking framework that bridges emergency relief with long-term sustainable development and conflict prevention.

Speaking at the launch, Carla Dominique Denizard, West Africa Regional Director for World Vision, described the plan as both bold and transformative. “Every child in Tchad deserves not just survival, but the chance to thrive,” she emphasized. “This strategy leverages deep community engagement, cultural sensitivity, and robust partnerships to turn challenges into opportunities for growth.”

She highlighted Tchad’s persistent struggles—rising insecurity, deep-rooted poverty, climate-induced displacement, and chronic malnutrition—as key drivers behind the integrated approach. The plan aligns with continental and global commitments, including the African Union’s Agenda 2063 and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 13, and 16).

A 20% surge in ambition

Édouard Ngoy Wangoy, National Director of World Vision Tchad, called the launch a historic milestone. “This strategy represents a 20% increase in our impact compared to previous cycles,” he stated. “Our mission is clear: ensure that every child in Tchad not only survives but flourishes.”

He underscored the urgency of the plan, noting that 42% of Tchadians live below the poverty line, with women and children bearing the heaviest burden. The strategy prioritizes maternal and child health, early literacy through the Unlock Literacy program, child protection from violence, and climate adaptation initiatives to safeguard communities.

A call for collective action

Closing the event, World Vision leaders urged all national actors—government bodies, financial partners, civil society, religious leaders, and media—to join forces. “No single organization can solve these challenges alone,” they stressed. “Only through shared commitment can we convert today’s crises into lasting progress for Tchad’s children.”
