Morocco’s Royal Vision: A Model of Success for the Region
The Moroccan government has been touted as a model of success in politics and economics, thanks to its ‘clear-sighted’ royal vision. According to Ilan Berman, vice-president of the American Foreign Policy Council, Morocco is now clearly presenting itself as a regional economic and political model.
“It’s an impressive evolution,” said Mr. Berman. “Today, Morocco is clearly presenting itself as a model: an economic model and a political model at both the regional and African levels.”
Mr. Berman attributes Morocco’s progress to the clear vision of its monarch and the consistency of the strategies implemented under his leadership.
The American expert also believes that Morocco will benefit from these advancements and progress made in recent years, despite challenges ahead.
When it comes to Moroccan-American relations, which mark their 250th anniversary this year, Mr. Berman highlighted “the depth, scope, and dynamism” of this unique strategic partnership.
In a rapidly changing global environment, the Rabat-Washington partnership is expected to strengthen further,” said the US expert.
“This partnership can bring significant gains not only for Morocco in its African strategy but also for the United States in terms of its foreign policy priorities abroad,” Mr. Berman concluded.
