Morocco has firmly established itself as a leading political, economic, and social force, not only in Africa and the Arab world but also across the Mediterranean region and globally.
According to Anissa Saysay, a German politician of Moroccan descent and member of the Christian Democratic Union (CDU), the Kingdom’s transformation into a modern and stable nation under the visionary guidance of His Majesty King Mohammed VI has been remarkable. During an interview marking the Throne Day celebrations, she highlighted how Morocco’s progress on the path to modernization has earned it international recognition and respect.
This transformation, she noted, is built on a long-term vision, substantial investments in infrastructure, and a commitment to economic sovereignty. The Kingdom’s strategic investments in ports, high-speed rail, airports, industrial and technological hubs, and key industries like automotive and aeronautics reflect its dedication to shaping a prosperous future.
Morocco’s unique position as a bridge between Europe, Africa, and the Arab world gives it a significant political and economic advantage. Its cultural richness and geographical location further enhance its role as a pivotal player in regional and global affairs.
Saysay also pointed out Morocco’s leadership in energy transition, positioning the Kingdom as both a pioneer in Africa and a vital partner for Europe in renewable energy initiatives.
On the social front, she praised Morocco’s efforts in expanding social protection, improving healthcare access, advancing education, and promoting women’s rights.
Discussing German-Moroccan relations, Saysay emphasized the positive evolution of this partnership in recent years. She described Morocco as a reliable and significant partner for Germany in North Africa, thanks to its stability, dynamism, and strategic location bridging Europe and Africa. For its part, Germany serves as a key partner for Morocco in technology, industry, vocational training, research, climate protection, and sustainable development.
She stressed the importance of an equal and mutually respectful partnership, grounded in shared interests and open dialogue. At the heart of this collaboration, she added, are Moroccans living abroad, who play a crucial role in fostering investments, knowledge exchange, partnerships, scientific cooperation, and social dialogue.
These individuals, she noted, embody a unique blend of identities, combining German institutional experience and technological expertise with Moroccan creativity, dynamism, hospitality, and regional networks. They are instrumental in strengthening ties between the two nations.
Saysay also underscored the significance of Throne Day, describing it not just as an annual celebration but as a strong bond uniting Moroccans worldwide with their homeland, its history, and the progress achieved under the Kingdom’s leadership.
