Morocco hosts us independence celebration at chellah, reinforcing strategic ties

For the first time, the 250th anniversary of American independence was celebrated at the historic site of Chellah, with the United States Embassy in Rabat honoring nearly two and a half centuries of relations with Morocco. Against a backdrop of shifting geopolitical and economic dynamics worldwide, Washington reaffirmed its commitment to a strategic partnership described as stronger than ever.

The ancient ruins of Chellah provided a deeply symbolic setting on Tuesday evening for the celebration. To mark the 250th anniversary of US independence, the American Embassy in Rabat gathered senior Moroccan officials, diplomats, and representatives from both the public and private sectors during its annual Independence Day reception, held for the first time at this historic capital site.
