Morocco files complaint after flag desecration in France

The Embassy of the Kingdom of Morocco in France has lodged an official complaint with French authorities following a series of disturbing incidents that unfolded in Aubervilliers after the Morocco-Canada World Cup 2026 match.

The diplomatic mission issued a strongly worded statement condemning what it described as egregious acts of desecration against the Moroccan flag and verbal attacks targeting Moroccan supporters. These events have left the diplomatic corps deeply concerned about the safety of Moroccan nationals abroad.

According to the official communiqué, verified footage and documented evidence confirm that the flag was violently torn and publicly set ablaze by individuals who were heard shouting slogans linked to Algerian roots. The embassy emphasized that such behavior constitutes a clear violation of international norms and diplomatic protocol.
