A statement released by the Jordanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates described the thwarted schemes as attempts to destabilize public order and endanger both lives and property across Moroccan territory.
Speaking on behalf of the ministry, Ambassador Fouad Majali underscored Jordan’s full backing for Morocco’s security measures, emphasizing that Amman stands resolutely by Rabat’s side in the fight against terrorism and extremism.
This declaration follows Morocco’s announcement of the neutralization of highly dangerous terror cells, which had reached an advanced stage of planning. Authorities, acting on intelligence provided by the General Directorate for National Security (DGST), executed synchronized operations across multiple Moroccan cities, resulting in the detention of radicalized individuals.
Preliminary investigations suggest these suspects were operating under the logistical and operational guidance of the Islamic State’s Sahel affiliate, aiming to execute attacks on Moroccan soil.
