Ivorian delegation meets Rwanda’s Kagame to boost sports ties

ABIDJAN, May 26, 2026 — A high-level Ivorian delegation led by Minister of State Kobenan Kouassi Adjoumani met with Rwanda‘s President Paul Kagame in Kigali on Friday, May 22, as part of the first Basketball Africa League (BAL) Investor Day. The visit, which included Sports Minister Metch Adje Silas, was conducted on behalf of President Alassane Ouattara, underscoring the growing importance of sports diplomacy in regional relations.

The meeting highlighted the strong and enduring partnership between Côte d’Ivoire and Rwanda, with both leaders emphasizing shared perspectives on the continent’s future. Minister Adjoumani conveyed President Ouattara’s warm greetings to President Kagame, reinforcing the spirit of cooperation between the two nations.
