Gabon poste savers can now verify names online via new app
The director general of Gabon Poste, Alfred Ikaka Bobe, announced on Tuesday that his administration has released an application for postal savers whose funds remain frozen, enabling them to check whether their name appears on the lists compiled by the liquidator.
To verify their name from a computer or smartphone, savers simply need to visit the platform at https://www.ccp.laposte.ga.
The platform went live last Monday but quickly became overloaded after attracting roughly 10,000 visits within a few hours.
“The application has been updated and will be operational again from Wednesday,” Mr. Ikaka Bobe stated.
Savers are asked to confirm that they are still alive. They can also indicate the location where they would like to receive their payment. The app is also available for savers living abroad.
Only savers who have been properly registered by the liquidator and who unfortunately lost their passbook are asked to go to a post office to obtain a new one.
As a reminder, in 2017 PostBank SA, a subsidiary of Gabon Poste, went bankrupt, jeopardising the savings of many account holders. After numerous broken promises under the ousted regime of Ali Bongo Ondimba, the transitional government in February 2025 expressed its determination to settle this debt.
Approximately 60,000 savers are believed to be affected. A sum of 31.212 billion CFA francs has been pledged to clear the debt over three years, with one third disbursed annually.
