Authorities dismantle illegal slaughterhouse in Tchad’s Abéché
A clandestine slaughterhouse has been shut down in Farik Aguek, Abéché, marking a significant step toward safeguarding public health and food safety in the region.
In a decisive move to uphold public hygiene and food safety standards, the local administration of Abéché’s first arrondissement, under the mayor’s directive, dismantled an illegal slaughterhouse in the Farik Aguek neighborhood.
Led by Hissein Hassan Tabit, assistant to the delegated administrator, the operation halted unauthorized livestock slaughtering practices that violated sanitary and regulatory norms. Upon inspection, authorities found multiple cattle carcasses on-site, confirming ongoing illegal activities.
Local officials emphasized that all animal slaughter must occur exclusively in approved facilities to ensure the meat supply remains safe for consumption. They warned that further inspections will continue to curb any activities that jeopardize community health.
This enforcement action underscores the city’s commitment to enforcing hygiene regulations, protecting consumers, and fostering a healthier environment for Abéché’s residents.
