Women in Lac province stand with security forces against Boko Haram
In a Lake province grappling with recent Boko Haram assaults, women have taken a united stand. On Friday, May 22, 2026, in Baga-Sola, members of the Provincial Women’s Network rallied behind the defense and security forces, calling for collective action against the looming terrorist threat.
Led by the Network’s president, Achta Adoum Abdoulaye, a delegation of women met with the General Delegate of the Government for the Lake province, General Saleh Haggar Tidjani, at the Baga-Sola headquarters. Their mission was unequivocal: to reinforce moral, logistical, and material support for troops battling Boko Haram in the region.
Speaking on behalf of the women of Lake province, Achta Adoum Abdoulaye praised the tireless efforts of civil and military authorities in curbing insecurity and safeguarding stability. She forcefully condemned the terrorist attacks that have claimed the lives of several defense and security personnel, extending heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families and the entire Chadian nation.
To turn their solidarity into tangible action, the delegation presented food supplies to the forces operating in the conflict zone.
In response, General Saleh Haggar Tidjani commended the women’s initiative as a “wave of patriotism” and underscored the pivotal role women play in community resilience, social cohesion, and the fight against violent extremism.
