Sénégal: close associate of prime minister Ousmane Sonko arrested
Matar Ndiaga Seck, a figure known for his close ties to Prime Minister Ousmane Sonko, has been apprehended by the Division des Investigations Criminelles (DIC). This notable arrest follows the issuance of a search warrant originating from the police station in Linguère. Mr. Seck’s name has emerged in connection with an inquiry focused on the detention of 22 individuals, who were taken into custody within the Djoloff area on suspicion of engaging in acts considered to be against nature. Detectives involved in the case affirm that the decision to bring in Mr. Seck is substantiated by “concordant elements” that establish a link between him and this particular investigation into alleged illicit activities.
