Rabat is hosting today the fifteenth session of the Morocco-France High-Level Meeting, marking another milestone in the strengthened strategic partnership between the two nations. Under the guidance of His Majesty King Mohammed VI and French President Emmanuel Macron, government delegations from both sides are convening to review progress and outline future cooperation.
The meeting reflects the deep-rooted ties and shared vision outlined in the exceptional strengthened partnership formalized between Rabat and Paris. Speaking on behalf of the French diplomatic corps, Ambassador Philippe Lalliot emphasized the tangible steps being taken to build the future, noting that initiatives are already underway across multiple Moroccan cities including Casablanca, Tangier, Marrakech, and Laâyoune.
During the session, Ambassador Lalliot highlighted key areas of collaboration, including education and youth development, with Morocco’s Minister of National Education, Preschool, and Sports, Mohamed Saad Berrada, present to represent the national government. The French envoy reiterated France’s unwavering support for Morocco’s position on the Sahara issue, referencing President Macron’s 2024 letter to King Mohammed VI that reaffirmed France’s recognition of the Moroccan sovereignty over the region.
The economic dimension of the partnership was also underscored. Ambassador Lalliot pointed out that France remains Morocco’s top foreign investor and employer, with French companies playing a pivotal role in the industrial growth of the Kingdom for over a decade.
Looking ahead, the diplomats identified three core priorities to guide future cooperation: addressing global challenges through joint solutions, strengthening security frameworks, and fostering deeper societal ties—particularly among the younger generations who represent the future of Franco-Moroccan relations. These efforts aim to solidify the foundations of a resilient and forward-looking alliance.
