Morocco and Colombia unite to strengthen un peace efforts

The Kingdom of Morocco and the Republic of Colombia have once again underscored their dedication to fostering deeper collaboration between the United Nations Peacebuilding Commission and the Security Council. Their shared goal? To prioritize peacekeeping as a central pillar of the UN’s global mission.

In a gesture of diplomatic courtesy, Omar Hilale, Morocco’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations and current Chair of the UN Peacebuilding Commission, welcomed Leonor Zalabata Torres, Colombia’s Ambassador to the UN and President of the UN Security Council for June 2026. The meeting took place in New York on June 3rd, marking a pivotal moment in international peace and security discussions.
