A legal complaint has been filed with the Prosecutor of the Republic at the Dakar High Court against Ousmane Sonko, who currently serves as both the President of the National Assembly and the leader of the PASTEF party. The complaint originates from a collective representing the descendants of Serigne Touba.
The filing follows remarks made by Sonko during the inauguration of his party’s headquarters, where he alleged that “dirty money entered the holy city of Touba,” according to the complainants.

The complainants, identifying themselves as Senegalese citizens, young intellectuals, and business operators—some of whom are grandsons of the founder of Touba—assert that these statements have tarnished the honor, reputation, and dignity of the holy city and its residents.
The complaint requests that the Prosecutor initiate an investigation, summon Sonko to clarify his remarks, and provide evidence supporting his claims. Additionally, it calls for all necessary measures to verify the accuracy of these statements.
