Hundreds of boko haram captives freed in Nigeria amid unclear details
The Nigerian army reported on Sunday, June 7, that several hundred people abducted months earlier by a Boko Haram faction in Ngoshe, Borno State, northeastern Nigeria, have been released. In a video released by the military, frightened women and children can be seen being transported in vans or pickups at night, then gathered on the ground under trees, surrounded by soldiers. The number of freed individuals ranges from 360 to nearly 420, depending on the source.
