During the study visit from June 8 to 12, 2026, the delegation discussed with Rachid Talbi Alami the business climate, the kingdom’s major projects, and its African initiatives, including Sahel countries’ Atlantic access and the Morocco-Nigeria gas pipeline.
On Tuesday, June 9, 2026, Rachid Talbi Alami, President of the House of Representatives, welcomed a delegation of French business executives in Rabat. The group was on a study visit to Morocco from June 8 to 12, amid growing economic ties between the kingdom and its European partners.
The French delegation, composed of executives from various unspecified sectors, aimed to learn about Morocco’s major ongoing projects and its role as a platform connecting Africa to the rest of the world.
During the meeting, Talbi Alami outlined the reforms undertaken in Morocco, the improving business climate, and the legal framework for investment. He also highlighted the country’s infrastructure, institutional stability, and economic advantages for foreign investors.
Discussions also covered Moroccan initiatives toward Africa, particularly the royal initiative to facilitate Sahel countries’ access to the Atlantic Ocean and the Africa-Atlantic gas pipeline project between Morocco and Nigeria.
These projects are part of a South-South cooperation framework, fostering regional integration and shared development across Africa.
Talbi Alami also explained the specifics of Morocco’s political system and the major milestones of its parliamentary history, spanning six decades.
This meeting comes as Morocco seeks to strengthen its position as an industrial, logistical, and financial hub between Europe and Africa, attracting more foreign investment in infrastructure, energy, industry, and services.
