Fbi underscores Morocco’s pivotal role in securing fifa world cup 2026
Christopher Raia, the Deputy Director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), made an official visit to the International Police Cooperation Center (IPCC) in Rabat this week. The center brings together law enforcement and security officials from all nations participating in the FIFA World Cup 2026.
This high-level engagement is part of a comprehensive security framework designed to protect every match of the upcoming tournament. During his visit, Raia held a dedicated meeting with senior representatives from Morocco’s Direction générale de la sûreté nationale (DGSN) and Direction générale de la surveillance du territoire (DGST).
The Deputy Director conveyed his appreciation for Morocco’s commitment to the security operation, emphasizing its active involvement across all phases of the competition. He described the Kingdom as a trusted and globally recognized partner, lauding its expertise and credibility in international security cooperation.

Addressing an assembly of foreign security delegates at the IPCC, Raia delivered a keynote address highlighting the critical importance of multilateral collaboration and intelligence-sharing in safeguarding the World Cup, co-hosted by the United States. He underscored that the sheer scale of the challenge—securing 78 matches over nearly two weeks—cannot be met without robust international partnerships.
The Deputy Director also pointed to a marked increase in threats intercepted on U.S. soil, attributing this progress to the accuracy of shared intelligence and the steadfast support from partner countries.
