Diplomatic ties between France and Morocco strengthened in Rabat
A vibrant gathering of over 1,500 guests at the French Residence in Rabat marked the celebration of French National Day, where Ambassador Philippe Lalliot underscored the renewal of ties between France and Morocco.
The event, held on July 14, 2026, brought together key figures including Moroccan ministers Mohamed Saad Berrada and Amal El Fallah Seghrouchni, alongside diplomats and officials.

In his speech, Ambassador Lalliot emphasized the importance of a balanced and forward-looking partnership between the two nations. He described it as “a refounded alliance designed to address current and emerging challenges.”
Highlighting the human dimension of the relationship, he stated, “This friendship is our shared heritage. It is our collective responsibility to nurture it, strengthen it, and ensure its growth.”
Morocco’s vision for progress
Reflecting on his diplomatic mission in Morocco, he praised the Kingdom’s proactive approach to building the future. From Rabat to Casablanca, Tanger, Marrakech, and Laâyoune—where he recently inaugurated the first Alliance Française—he noted that Morocco doesn’t just envision the future; it actively constructs it.
