Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire – The National Institute for Statistics and Economic Studies (ENSEA) played host to the 2026 Journées ouvertes pour l’utilisation de la recherche et de l’innovation en éducation (JOURIE), a two-day event that brought together education stakeholders to discuss the transformative power of digital technology in shaping Côte d’Ivoire’s education system.

Aiming for Quality and Equity

Initiated by the Ministry of National Education, Alphabétisation and Vocational Training (MENAET), this year’s JOURIE aimed to promote a culture of research and innovation in education, with a focus on leveraging digital solutions to improve the quality of education in Côte d’Ivoire.

A Digital Leap Forward

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Dr Inza Meité, Director of Studies, Strategies, Planning, and Statistics (DESPS), highlighted the importance of this initiative in fostering a collective reflection on the impact of research and technology on education transformation.

According to M. Kouadio Kouman, Conseiller technique at MENAET, this year’s JOURIE embodies the government’s commitment to anchoring education reform on data-driven approaches, in line with international standards.
