Chad firmly denies claims of destabilization plans against Central African Republic
The spokesperson for Chad’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ibrahim Adam Mahamat, has categorically rejected over the past weekend allegations of a planned destabilization campaign targeting the Central African Republic (CAR) allegedly orchestrated by N’Djamena.
Chad’s diplomatic corps has dismissed these claims as deliberate disinformation aimed at tarnishing the country’s reputation and straining its ties with neighboring CAR.
In a strongly worded statement, the Ministry condemned these disinformation tactics with the utmost severity, urging those responsible to act responsibly and calling on media outlets and social media users to rely on verified facts rather than baseless accusations.
The Chadian government has repeatedly emphasized that it has never been, is not, and will never be involved in any subversive activities against a fellow African state. This stance underscores the country’s commitment to regional stability, as highlighted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
President Mahamat Idriss Déby Itno places high importance on upholding sovereignty, territorial integrity, and the principle of non-interference, asserting that the stability of the subregion is intrinsically linked to that of Chad itself.
Chad has frequently faced accusations from neighboring Central and East African nations, accusing it of supporting various extraterritorial armed groups. Among these are the Rapid Support Forces (RSF), currently engaged in conflict with the Sudanese Army since April 15, 2023.
